The Hurricanes have scored five regulation goals in their last five games. That fifth goal was probably the most important one they have scored this season.  Down by one with less than a minute in regulation, Eric Staal found his brother Jordan alone in front of the net and he was able to slip it past the glove hand of Flyers goalie Steve Mason.

Manny Malhotra, in only his third game in Carolina red, netted the game winner on a break-away scoring chance in OT to halt the ‘Canes winless streak at 5.
